☀️ t1 - happy public domain day! last day of my break and it was spent working on some art and tidying things up around here. i get to work with my besties in the morning - i swear they're the only part of work that i missed. also started a Gideon reread in the hopes of manifesting the announcement of Alecto.
🌧️ F2 - work was fine for a first day back, just a ton of prep and an otherwise quiet shift; came home, read some more Gideon, went and got asian food with best friend, back home and back to reading. might be able to finish it up tonight and pick up Harrow tomorrow.
🌥️ S3 - 🌕 met the first new creature of the year, a very dapper Triodopsis hopetonensis. finished up Gideon (the last twenty or so pages through abject tears), then read the first locked tomb short story, further confirming to me that Cam and Pal are the true main characters of the series. got a start on both Harrow and a locked tomb shrine (which at the moment is just a list of the words Tamsyn Muir made me look up)
☀️ s4 - a nice productive deep-cleaning day, sorely needed. a little reading, a little coloring, a return to modded Stardew Valley to see if that itches the brain. gorgeous pink sunset to round it off though.
☀️ M5 - i wish my brain did better on days home alone. intended to zone in on Stardew, ended up staring into space longer than i would've liked. got to the one-third mark in Harrow, which is as mind-altering as it was last time. husband brought home some Sharon Creech books for me for lighter reading material.
🌥️ T6 - love a slow work day where i get to read on the clock for an hour - finished Harrow, god bless her, then finished Chasing Redbird expecting it to be a far lighter read than it was, but it was fitting. convoluted thoughts on the ending but i've got three more of her books to go through before make a final opinion.
☀️ W7 - doused myself in buffalo sauce at work by accident, twas lovely... got to read on the clock more and finished up another library book. as always, trying not to stress too much about awful things happening out in the world that i have no control over. it's hard.
🌥️ t8 - work was a circus but thankfully they're not my monkeys, good lord. no reading today, just straight into Stardew when i got home (just made it to summer, working on affording a pony and and getting to the bottom of the mine)
🌧️ F9 - quick and easy shift - managed to read a couple pages of Nona. Stardew in full swing from the second i got home, pretty much. i have a duck and a goat now. :3 put in a library request for Babel by RF Kuang - had it a couple months ago but the reading urge died before i could get to it. fingers crossed.
🌧️ S10 - 🌗 taught a coworker how to make paper stars :3 also relocated some tiny baby snails to safer environs. got the shopping done (giggle fit on the way home) and then zoned in on my farm for uh... longer than i care to admit.
🌥️ s11 - cleaned up the house, cooked some dinner - otherwise just continued the hyperfixation. decided i'm going to try to go out next saturday though, i'm in the mood to socialize and listen to loud music. debating whether to buy cheap tickets to the concert at the bar down the street, or head to the actual bar district and catch a dj... time will tell.
☀️ M12 - chilly today. really should've gone to the library with husband but instead sat at home and was anxious most of the day. still working on my farm, but i think starting tomorrow i'm going to make a push to finish Nona before i lose too many braincells. Babel came in and i -will- read it this time.
☀️ T13 - pleasantly busy at work (though still very much worth bitching about in the moment, as always). needed some outside time so i read a chunk of Nona out on the porch in the sun, then we went and got our flu shots. i've spent too long shrimped on the couch playing Stardew and my lower back is killing me so i'm taking a break today.
🌧️ W14 - back still kinda fucked but i made it through the day, finished up Nona when i got home and then directly into Babel which thankfully is already pulling me in. very cold, long, drizzly morning but i had good company so it wasn't too strenuous.
🌥️ t15 - officially an old lady. properly tweaked my back trying to wrangle a case of pork belly and have been in pain all day. :c hoping it resolves itself and i don't have to go get medical care i can't afford. hate to be a downer but so it goes.
☀️ F16 - back is slightly better but i'm out of work until Tuesday (hopefully no longer than that...). just been me and the heating pad and boredom most of the day, though i did read a hundred pages or so of Babel, which i'm really enjoying.
🌥️ S17 - bed and heating pad still, alas. finished Babel and went back to Stardew Valley to ease my anxiety.
☀️ s18 - 🌑 i am now a bad bitch with a back brace! and also a lot of anxiety still! one more day at home and then we see what a workday brings...
☀️ M19 - all the healing i managed to do since thursday was completely voided out by moving wrong (while wearing the back brace!) and feeling something slip. now i'm in pain again and lost all the mobility i gained back and i get to try and go get xrayed tomorrow.
☀️ T20 - woke up in far less pain but still went to the doctor - was basically told "yeah, that sucks, don't do that" which... i'm glad it wasn't more serious i guess but damn that shit hurt like a mf tho? back to work tomorrow, we shall see how it goes?
🌧️ W21 - didn't re-injure myself (so far) today! read a few chapters of Storm Front (oh Dresden) when i got home. the pain flared up real bad as i was trying to go to bed so i lost some sleep to that, but it eventually passed.
🌥️ t22 - laughed myself half to death at work and it must have had some healing properties because i'm feeling a lot better. did some pt, read some more Dresden, kept up with the winter storm forecasts.
🌥️ F23 - the winter weather won't set in until tomorrow, it looks like - hopefully no power outages. lots of food and supplies stocked up so after tomorrow's shift we shouldn't have to leave the house for a few days
❄️ S24 - work was slow so i was able to get out ahead of the freezing rain. hopefully no major power outages. spent the evening getting back into SDV
🌧️ s25 - no hard freeze, no power emergencies - all is thankfully well. finished up Storm Front and started on Fool Moon when i wasn't knee-deep in farm chores
☀️ M26 - 🌓 delightfully lazy day of reading Fool Moon and working on my farm. watched Frieren s1e2+3 while eating a fancy meat and cheese feast. my back is maybe 85% back to normal which i'm so thankful for. unfortunately it looks like i'll have to keep jonesing for a night out for a little while longer because it's going to stay cold...
