people and works that inspire me deeply - a non-exhaustive list

@sibster

i love trash art, and sibster is on another level. all of their projects are simple, recycled, and gorgeous. some favorites of mine are the paper lanterns made from used teabags and fallen leaves, and the embossed metal foliage made from a tomato paste tube.

Kit Davey - @daveykit

bookbinding as an art form makes my brain happy. Kit Davey makes tiny decoupaged books - books with pockets, with motion, with pop-outs, with depth; books made from buttons and driftwood; books shaped like houses and cubes. i love them all.

Koralie - @koralie.carmen.flores

i've been obsessed with Koralie for a literal decade, ever since watching this collaboration between her and Supakitch. the lines, the flow, the patterns, the blues... i would love to own a piece of hers someday.

Naomi Vona - @mariko_koda

overpainting magazine pages as an art journal! the bold patterns and chaotic lettering are just so juicy looking. i really want to try this for myself someday.

Hannah Webb - @theobanoth

the precision and forethought that goes into every brush stroke blows my mind. i love the minimalist technique combined with such vibrant colors, and the motion that the curved strokes impart.

Lilith Black Bee - @lilith.black.bee

it's probably obvious at this point that i really like patterns and repetition. the time invested in each of Lilith's pieces is arrestingly visible and meditative, even hypnotic, at the same time. i don't really have the words to express what her art makes me feel but it makes me feel a lot of it.

RS Connett - @rsconnett

these pieces make me think of scientific illustrations from some darker world - something out of Haeckel's nightmares. just a lot of really good shapes, man.
